>A WEEKEND IN BRUGGE

Brugge, Belgium
16 - 18 June 2012

Brugge - Known as the Venice of the North, Brugge is one of the most beautiful Cities in Europe! This Word Heritage Site does not disappoint!

We are just back from a very enjoyable few days in Brugge. People had told us to prepare ourselves for a visual treat... they were not wrong! We found beautiful architecture, chocolate box streets and very picturesque canals. This is the perfect place for a long weekend City break.

We travelled by Eurostar from London to Brussels then boarded a local train to Brugge. We stayed in the central Novotel which was a perfect base for sightseeing. The weather was kind to us and allowed for perfect exploring on foot. We took a boat trip on the canals and enjoyed wonderful views of the fine Medieval buildings. Kamagurka provided our art fix for the weekend. His show, Kamarama was a multi-venue freak show of the weird and wonderful - a little bit Dada and very entertaining, this pageant was a hit on every level! (see the disaster tourist hot spot, Oh, Boy! that was created by Yves Obyn below)

Thank you to John and Jean and Kay and Nigel for being such fun travelling companions. It was a very happy and memorable weekend away!
