We had to stay up way past bedtime to enjoy Prometheus awakes - a spectacular large scale piece of outdoor theatre! This epic re-interpretation of the famous Greek myth was created by Graeae, the boldly inventive disabled-led theatre company and Catalan masters of visual magnificence La Fura dels Baus.
The Queens House provided a perfect back drop for the large scale projections as the grounds became engulfed by the OTT production. Fire works lit up the sky behind the 10 metre high animatronic figure of Prometheus as the performance reached a spectacular and quite moving climax. Rousing stuff indeed!
Those crazy Spaniards!!
A great edited vid with all the good bits!
Prometheus Awakes is also part of the London 2012 Festival, a spectacular 12-week nationwide celebration from 21 June and running until 9 September 2012 bringing together leading artists from across the world with the very best from the UK. Don't miss it!
