2 - 3 June 2012
An early morning flight from Heathrow to Paris, with Chris's partner Mark, got the day off to a good start. We then trained it down to Lyon and were sitting in the sun by 3pm. We met up with Chris and the troop for a quick snack-stop before they had to prepare for the big show. We watched several very good cheer leading performances before the UA Platinum team, (shown below), took to the mat. A really tight performance from the troop rightfully gained them second place overall, real shame about some unfortunate slips - a blemish free turn would surely have earned them a first - better luck next time gang!
We stayed in Lyon for one night and had a little free time early Sunday morning to explore the City. A train trip back up to Paris was next followed by three hours free in Paris. We chose to walk from the Louvre up to the Arc de triomphe via the Tuileries Gardens, the Place de la Concorde and the Champs-Élysées. We then headed to Gare du Nord to catch the Eurostar back to London. (Phew)
