Richard Long's love of nature and walking has inspired him to make art using the natural landscape and its materials. His walks, some lasting for more than 8 days, have taken him through rural and remote areas of Britain, and as far afield as the Sahara Desert and the Arctic Circle.
This wonderful exhibition at Tate Britain explores the relationship between art and landscape and includes large-scale sculptures and mud wall works, new photographic and text works and a selection of artist's books, postcards and other printed material.
We really enjoyed this great show! Long's work is very accessible and instantly rewarding. The simple use of large wall mounted text and framed prints illustrated his thought provoking 'journeys' beautifully! Another classic from Tate Britain!
