In this new production of Pam Gem's classic 1978 play, the life of one of the 20th century's greatest singers is retold, vividly capturing the glamour and squalor, the rise and fall of this complex, fragile and enigmatic performer... The Theatre event of the year!

From the seedy streets of Paris to worldwide fame, Edith Piaf continues to be remembered and revered for her exceptional voice and extraordinary life. The 'little Sparrow' lives on!...

The diminutive Elana Roger is stunning in this dark, stripped back production. She is 'the little Sparrow' and is completely believable. A superb supporting cast of eleven really help to energise the tragic story, as the plot twists and turns through Piaf's turbulent life. The black, brick stage and distressed back drop come to life with imaginative lighting and magical sound design, adding depth and drama as Rogers' vocals tear us apart. We are instantly transported back to the filthy, sin drenched back-streets of '30's Paris...

This is our second evening with Elena Roger, the first was during the 2006 production of Evita. She wowed the audiences and critics alike with her heart-stopping portrayal of
Eva PerĂ³n, she was truly wonderful... (so good in-fact that we had to purchase the sound-track...)

Piaf runs at the Vaudeville for 100 performance only and ends 24th Jan 2009. Go see!

Forty-five years after Edith Piaf's premature death, her legacy is stronger than ever.
