30th June - 7th July 2016
We
head back to wonderful Alicante to soak up some rays and play in the
Med. This City is authentic, vibrant and perfect for a beach get away.
We spent our time a little like this:
Wednesday the 29th June - We flew from Southampton to Alicante on the 3pm flight. Got to apartment around 7:30pm after being met from the bus stop on line C-6 by our lovely host Ariadna. We unpacked, freshened up and went out in search of Tapas. Found a typical bar in the back streets and chilled after our day of travel.
Thursday 30th June - A
beautiful hot and sunny day in Alicante. We breakfast outside on the
patio and then go out to explore. First stop, the fantastic central
market, we pick up some massive prawns and fresh fruit to cook back at
the apartment in the eve. Next up our pilgrimage to El Corte Ingles...
Ibiza mix 2016 is purchased. We also revisit MOCA. Back to apartment to
prepare for the beach! We enjoy a few hours in the sun and take a
cooling dip in the Med. Back to apartment to cook up a treat!
Friday 1st July - More sunshine and blue skies. We have a chilled day relaxing and enjoying the surroundings... a bit of walking, a bit of swimming and lots of relaxing.
Saturday 2nd July - Another lovely sunny day. Today we take a 25mins tram ride up the coast to Fabraquer, an amazing beach with slightly less Brits and more locals. We enjoy the sun and Med and also relax with a beach side snack in a cool cafe. We head back to Alicante late afternoon and enjoy a chilled eve at the apartment.
Sunday 3rd July - More of the same. In the eve we have a drink in a lovely bar overlooking the harbour followed by a fab meal at Tapas Alicante.
Friday 1st July - More sunshine and blue skies. We have a chilled day relaxing and enjoying the surroundings... a bit of walking, a bit of swimming and lots of relaxing.
Saturday 2nd July - Another lovely sunny day. Today we take a 25mins tram ride up the coast to Fabraquer, an amazing beach with slightly less Brits and more locals. Monday 4th July - More
of the same. We notice that Conchita (a local kitty) is stuck on the
tin roof. Apparantly she has a habit of gettimg stuck! later we pick up
some Sword Fish, beetroot and peaches from El Corte Ingles and cook up a
storm in the eve. We also do some drawing and painting.
Tuesday 5th July - We are up early to catch the 9:13 tram to Benidorm. We arrive around 10:30 and explore the sights... Nothing has changed, apart from the quantity of people... It's heaving! We leave early afternoon to get back to Alicante to chill. In the Eve we push the boat out and return to the La Taberna Del Gormet... The meal does not disappoint, the Tuna tata is sensational.
Wednesday 6th July - Another perfect day. We revisit ECI and stock up on ingredients for home made paella. We also manage to pick up some local pottery in the back streets. In the afternoon we hit the beach. The eve is fun, we cook, we do a bit more drawing and Conchita is rescued!
Thursday 7th July - Up early-ish to get bus to airport. We fly back to Southampton on the 11:25. Thank you Alicante, you were great (Again)!
