Salts Mill - houses the only permanent David Hockney collection in the UK. We go take a look.
The village of Shipley is a UNESCO World Heritage site and is beautifully situated in the hills on the banks of the Aire. Our visit was primarily to Salts Mill, built by Titus Salt in 1853. This is a spectacular building and a grand location for the work of David Hockney. The site also houses many retail units and quality eating establishments.
This fantastic location is really worth a visit, especially if you admire the art of Hockney. The work on display is beautiful and you get to enjoy a good selection of pieces from many of his different periods. It was also a treat to enjoy 'The arrival of Spring' series of iPad works.
