Oliver! - The Crucible was transformed into a very believable 1853 London for this feel good blast. A young orphan arrives on the streets with no
friends, no money and nowhere to live. He meets a cheeky pickpocket who
shows him a whole new way of life. But as chance would have it, Oliver
stumbles upon a gentleman who might just hold the key to his mysterious
past - And the rest, as they say...
Following on from the huge success of My Fair Lady, Artistic Director Daniel Evans directs Lionel Bart’s sensational musical Oliver!, an exhilarating story about one boy’s survival against the odds. Packed full of amazing songs including Consider Yourself, You’ve Got To Pick A Pocket or Two - and the crowd pleasing - Oom-pah-pah! This has to be one of the most atmospheric theatrical experiences ever!

We had an incredible afternoon at the Crucible in the heart of the culture quarter, in the newly polished centre of Sheffield. The story of Oliver was brilliantly brought to life by a wonderful cast who danced and sang their way around the very clever set designed by Peter McKintosh.
Tom Edden was truly amazing as Fagin
10 out of 10!
