David Bowie is... - The V&A has been given unprecedented access to the David Bowie
Archive to curate the first international retrospective of the
extraordinary career of David Bowie. David Bowie is... features more than
300 objects that include handwritten lyrics, original costumes, fashion,
photography, film, music videos, set designs and Bowie's own
instruments!
This long overdue rummage through the archives of the 'thin white duke' is impressive! Bowie has been collecting for a while, for his whole career infact - and this show is made all the richer for it. The staging is amazing and wraps around you as you enjoy. The fashions shocked, the music broke moulds and trends were set and ditched at an alarming pace! Bowie was, and still is, the original trend setter!
