Kapoor is king of the sexy, shiny shape...
Anish Kapoor was born in India in 1954. He is a Turner prize winning sculptor and has been exhibited in many of the world's most popular Galleries. His forms engage the viewer. They evoke mystery through the works' dark cavities, awe through their size and simple beauty, tactility through their inviting surfaces and fascination through their reflective facades.
Anish has worked closely with architects and engineers on a number of large-scale commissions. This show gives a rare and fascinating insight into many such projects with an opportunity to view his architectural models, many of which have never been on public display before.
It was great to see such a varied collection of Marquette's... fantastic to ogle the organic forms and a pleasure to peruse these plump plastic pretties! ...oops!
...Image above shows the 110-ton outdoor sculpture called 'Cloud Gate' located in Chicago's Millennium Park. Ooooh!
