>SARAH MORRIS - 'LESSER PANDA'

White Cube, Masons Yard, St. James, London
6 September 08

Abstract artist Sarah Morris explores themes of China, the Olympics and ‘the aesthetic tension between the commercial and the political! Very glossy, very complex, and very now!

Sarah's influences for these huge glossy 'walls' of abstract imagery are both eclectic and disturbing. The ring roads around the city, ancient Japanese paper art, the relentless digital information bombardment and grisly acts of terrorism. They all sit side by side and help fill her compositions with depth, movement and endless energy.

Sarah was born in the UK in 1967 and now splits her living and working life between New York and London. She has exhibited widely and since the mid 90s, has been internationally recognised for her complex abstractions and films. Cool!
